Composition
Each ml contains:

Active substance:
Oxytocin 10 UI

Excipient:
Chlorobutanol hemihydrate 5 mg
Indications
Induction of parturition. Uterine inertia or atony. Uterine involution after caesareans and for reducing haemorrhages. Expulsion of placenta and remnants of exudates after parturition. Initiation of lactation after parturition. Chronic pyometra and endometritis to provoke the expulsion of exudates. Adjunct treatment to antibiotic therapy for acute and chronic mastitis to facilitate the expulsion of residues and drainage.
Route of administration
Intravenous, intramuscular and subcutaneous.
Dosage
  • Obstetrics (intravenous, intramuscular and subcutaneous):
    • Cows and mares: 75–100 IU (equivalent to 7.5–10 ml of medication/animal).
    • Sheep and goats: 30–50 IU (equivalent to 3–5 ml of medication/animal).
    • Bitches: 5–25 IU (equivalent to 0.5–2.5 ml of medication/animal).

  • Milk ejection (intravenous):
    • Cows and mares: 10–20 IU (equivalent to 1–2 ml of medication/animal).
    • Sheep and goats: 5–20 IU (equivalent to 0.5–2 ml of medication/animal).
    • Bitches: 2–10 IU (equivalent to 0.2–1 ml of medication/animal).
