Doxycycline (hydrochloride) 100 mg
Indications
Treatment of the following infections caused by doxycycline-sensitive microorganisms:

  • Gram-negative bacteria: Pasteurella spp, E. coli, Salmonella spp, Bordetella bronchiseptica, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Haemophilus parasuis.

  • Gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus spp. and microorganisms such as Clostridiumspp., Mycoplasmaspp., Rickettsia spp., Chlamydia spp. and some protozoa.
    • Cattle: Pneumonia, bronchopneumonia and pasteurellosis.
    • Pigs: Enzootic pneumonia, pleuropneumonia, Glässer’s disease, pasteurellosis, atrophic rhinitis, streptococcosis, MMA (mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome), campylobacteriosis, salmonellosis, porcine proliferative enteropathy, leptospirosis, cystitis-pyelonephritis, renal and hepatic abscesses and necrotic enteritis caused by doxycycline-sensitive microorganisms.
Route of administration
Intramuscular, slow intravenous, subcutaneous and intrauterine.
Dosage
  • Cattle: 1 ml per 10 to 20 kg of body weight, every 24 hours for 4 to 5 days.
  • Sheep, goats and pigs: 0.4–0.6 ml per 10 kg of body weight, every 24 hours for 4 to 5 days.
Vaccination schedule:
Withdrawal period
Meat: 21 days.
Milk: 72 hours.
