Indications

Cows: Silent heat, adjunctive treatment in chronic endometritis and pyometra, induction of parturition, induction of abortion, induction and synchronisation of oestrus.
Sows: Induction of parturition.
Mares: : Induction of oestrus, treatment of persistent corpus luteum.
Rabbits: Induction of parturition, elimination of corpus luteum in pseudopregnancy states for heat synchronisation.

Route of administration

Intramuscular.

Dosage

Cows: 25 mg of dinoprost per animal (equivalent to 5 ml of the medication).
- In reproductive control programmes and pyometra treatment, a second dose may be necessary after 10 or 12 days.
- In cases of silent heat and induction and synchronisation of oestrus, females enter heat and ovulate 2–4 days after treatment, allowing for natural mating or insemination at 72 and 90 hours after application.
- Induction of parturition should be carried out within the last 10 days prior to the expected date (from day 270 of gestation) to avoid risks of dystocia and enhance efficacy. Parturition occurs between the 1st and 8th day following administration.
- For induction of abortion, the application should be carried out between the 1st week and the 5th month of gestation, occurring within the next 7 days.
Sows: 10 mg of dinoprost per animal (equivalent to 2 ml of the medication).
- Induction of parturition should be carried out within 72 hours before the expected date (from day 112 of gestation) to reduce the risk of mortality in piglets.
Mares: : 5 mg of dinoprost per animal (equivalent to 1 ml of the medication).
- In cases of persistent corpus luteum and the induction of oestrus, it manifests within 2–12 days.
Rabbits: 1 mg of dinoprost per animal (equivalent to 0.2 ml of the medication).
- Parturition occurs 24–48 hours after administration.
- In cases of induction of parturition, it should be administered from day 29 of gestation.
