Indications
Prevention and treatment of iron-deficiency anaemia.
Route of administration
Intravenous.
Dosage
  • Foals post-weaning: 10 ml/day.
  • Mares and adult horses: 50 ml every two days up to 200 ml total (4 injections) or 20 ml daily for up to 10 consecutive days.

Treatment duration depends on haemoglobin levels, body requirements and the animal’s clinical response.

Methods of administration:
  • Direct intravenous injection into the jugular vein.
  • By mixing the contents of a 20 ml vial with 500 ml of sterile saline solution and administering it immediately by slow infusion. Ensure solution is above 15 °C at administration.

A slow intravenous test injection in all horses is recommended before administering the first therapeutic dose to check tolerance; if no reactions occur, proceed with the full dose after at least 15 minutes.
